Abstract

Online media play a crucial role in the war that Russia is waging in Ukraine. What are the main challenges for Ukrainian journalists covering the war in their country? How does the Kremlin’s propaganda machine work within and outside Russia? How do independent Russian media outlets that have been shut down manage to continue their work in exile? What strategies are the most successful against the dissemination of false information during a war and can quality journalism be a remedy for this sort of propaganda? These and other questions will be discussed in this WeizenbaumForum Special.
