Abstract

This repository contains supplementary data for the paper "Merk, Tara, André Ullrich, Rainer Rehak, Morshed Mannan, and Raymundo Vásquez Ruiz. Community Data Centers: Between Resistance and Reproduction of the Californian Ideology. Forthcoming." For this work, we invited groups of people to imagine alternative ownership and governance models for data centers. Guided by a series of written prompts, people in these workshops co-imagined community data centers and captured the outcome of this exercise in drawings. Overall, we hosted workshops in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey involving over 120 people, resulting in 34 drawings. – Appendix A: This folder contains the worksheets that guided the workshop participants through the drawing exercise. – Appendix B: This folder contains photos or scans of all drawings analysed in the paper as .jpeg. The filenames correspond to the unique ID assigned to each image. The included table provides more context for each ID. – Readme.md: contains description of the contents of the archive.
